In the Chinese women literature of 20thcentury, DingLing was a special writer. She was contradictory in that she showed in her works the painful struggle of the love of the new women of the May 4 th Movement, but she finally transcended the unique world of the love of the women writers of the May 4 th Movement and went into the real world. She was a writer of strong character, while in the end she deliberately avoided the strong women's style and pursued men's language. This contradiction was embodied in her composition and reappeared in her real life. She was the one who changed the writing style evidently in the women writers of the 20 th century and we can see her way of growing up and at the same time the way of the life of an active initiator of women movement. The women's images in DingLing's works reflected the discovery and recognition of the consciousness of modern Chinese women in the 20 th century and she finally classified the women's consciousness into men's power. She described in her works the awakening and growing up of both Chinese intellectual women and the ordinary working women in the women's liberation movement. They were the "new" women of "new China". In her works, "new" meant both the resistance and breaking with the conventional men's power and the acknowledgement of women's self-awareness to the final transcendence.
