Due to the growing interchange between Korea and China since the amity between the two countries in 1992, the importance of Chinese education in Korea has been increasing. It is widely known in Korea that learning Chinese language is very crucial, which leads the number of students who want to learn Chinese to increase every year.The purpose of this study is to examine thoroughly the history and the current state of Chinese education since the establishment of the Korean government and to study some educational problems at present including future-oriented solutions on the above issues.This study consists of the five chapters. The first chapter includes main purposes of the study, methodology of analyses and coverage in detail. The second chapter will explain the current state of learning Chinese in Korea, which has been prevailing and we will also overview the present status of publication including Chinese education and text books in ancient Korea.In the third chapter, we will study the process of Chinese educational changes while examining educational contents, aims and lesson units per week for each educational curriculum revised for seven times. The fourth chapter will mainly study the current status of training Chinese teachers and compare the overall importance and present condition with other foreign languages such as German, French, Spanish and Russian. In addition, this study will analyze < basic vocabulary > and < example sentences for communication skills > covered in the present seventh educational curriculum and will also include my opinions on the above analyses. This chapter will also deal with the relationship between learning Chinese and college entrance exams in Korea while examining efficient teaching - learning methods. Finally, the fifth chapter will emphasize the main findings and six personal opinions will be added on them.The educational curriculum is the procedure that includes setting educational goals, selecting and organizing detailed contents, and evaluating the results as a whole. From this study, I focused upon explaining various ways that Korean students can learn Chinese more easily and efficiently. I hope this thesis can be the foundation for further relevant studies.
