| Hui Dialect, which can be said to be a particular Chinese dialect of its own characteristics, is worth studying. Chengkan dialect is a kind of typical Hui Dialect, and it lies between Jishe cluster and Xiuyi cluster. This paper mainly adopts the study methods of traditional dialectology. Based on the fieldwork, the paper describes the phonetic system of Chengkan dialect in detail. It lists the phonological system of Chengkan dialect, the homophony syllabary, the syllabary of Er-hua finals, the glossary, the example sentences of grammar, and the comparison of initials, finals, tones between Chengkan dialect and MC phonetic system. It also summarizes the phonological features of this dialect, concludes the laws of Er-hua, the literary and colloquial readings, and discusses preliminarily the special subjects of the present pronunciation of MC voiced initials and the features of finals. We believe that the description and analysis of the phonetic system of Chengkan dialect can provide some reliable materials for the study of Hui Dialect, and it can be helpful to the deeper study of Hui Dialect. |
