A Research On The Phonogy Of Chengbu Dialect In Hunan Province

Miao Autonomous County of Chengbu located in southwest border of Hunan province, all the time, and academic world lack further comprehensive study on phonetic of Chengbu dialect, there has been very few documents on the study of the dialect. On the basis of our field survey, a detail description and analysis of the phonetics have been finished. We described and sorted out the phonetic system and the syllabary of Chengbu dialect; maked a diachronic comparison on Chengbu and mediaeval dialect through the description of initial consonant, vowel, tone depiction, then summarize the dialect s characteristic of phonology. In addition, we described literal and colloquial reading of Chengbu dialect. Last but not the list we analyzed the voiced initials of chengbu dialect and summarize the law of their historical evolution. We hope all these efforts will be helpful to enrich the study on Chengbu dialect.
