The Measure word takes an important role in Han-Tibetan family language, especially in Modern Chinese. Among the measure word, the measure word for nouns is the earliest the most complicated, and is the most used.The Chinese Language also has a lot of measure words for nouns that make Chinese an expressive language. For the learners who are studying Chinese as a second language, especially for those whose mother tongue has no concept of the measure word for nouns, it is very hard to adapt to measure words and the complex correlation between measure words and nouns. We find that there are many errors made by learners in different countries and levels during the course of acquisition. Thus, when teaching Chinese as a second language teaching measure words is an especially difficult aspect.So this study analyzes questionnaires and modern teaching materials, by summarizing and describing the modern condition of teaching measure words for nouns as a foreign language. We also designed a test paper to exam the acquisition condition of learners on different levels .We also requested some experts'advice which aims at teaching measure words for nouns as a foreign language.According to above results, we give out some suggestions: We should divide the teaching into different levels. We can arrange the whole teaching process according to the use of the measure word is easy or hard. In different level, we pay special attention on different aspects. We also should attach importance to the distinction of two measure word for nouns. At the same time, we should take the effect of mother tongue under consideration, and help the learners to have deeper understanding of the measure word for nouns through comparison.
