Teaching is the most important step in the process of teaching Chinese as a second language.Modern classroom research stemmed from 50th 20 century. Philip Jackson's assay《Life in Classroom》changed the condition that researchers who ignored the classroom research. Observation is very important for this research and observation needs instruments.Our article retrospect the history of the classroom research and the second language teaching classroom research, especially for the popular and practical observation instruments: COLT scheme, IRF discourse analysis model and T-unit. We give these instruments the designed explanation and comments, for their advantages and deficiency both have a detailed introduction .On the basis of these instruments, we design our own observation scheme for the classroom of teaching Chinese as a second language. The scheme consists of 3 parts and every part has several items. Every item has its principle and usage.In fact how about this observation scheme for the classroom of teaching Chinese as a second language, we could check only through the practice of the teaching.
