Study On Fricative In Mongolian By Experimental Phonetics

The thesis sdudies the characters and the changes under the variouspronounciation circumstances of fricative in Mongolian by means ofEPG and spectrogram. It includes six parts: preface, first chapter, secondchapter, third chapter, summary and references. The preface presentsgeneral introduction about the study on fricative in Mongolian whichresearchers did and the meaning to select the topic. First chapterpresents date bank of dynamic palate position about fricative inmongoLian and the equipments and the ways. In second chapterdiscusses the characters of fricative in Mongolian. The third chaptersdudies the linking features of the fricative with vowel and otherconsonant.The end gives a brief account.Second, third chapter are the main parts of the thesis. Order of palateposition of fricative are as follows: [s], [∫] and [x]. when link withvowel [s], [∫], [x] are more affected by [I], [i], [(?)] and [(?)],and strongly affect the length, intensity, pitch of vowel. When [s]and [∫] link with other consonant, [s] and [∫] are affected by theother consonant and Phoneme around easily, but have not affectPhoneme around.
