Although Chinese Americans have lived in American over one hundred years, they have been treated unfairly, thus change the image in the literature inAmerican. According to the whitesupremacists, Chinese are merely loyal and obedient servant, silent laundrymen, coolies, smugglers, and prostitute. Images in the white texts are that ChineseAmerican men appear docile, passive, or evil, cunning. They are either silent ordocile, humble, submissive, be ready to be assimilated, or notorious, and be famousfor their duplicity, cunning. However, we should look into the deep reason behind the images created bywesterners. That is all because the exclusions imposed on Chinese American men byAmerican government, and the "Laws". After building the railroads, they facedunbelievable exclusion and slaughter.Actually, the father images in the Chinese American works show the multiplepersonalities. In view of this, this thesis selects several works of Chinese AmericanWriters, and analyzes the four types of father image in Chinese American literatureaccording to the different society situation in America. The thesis intends to study themale and Father images of these novels, to correct the distorted Chinese images: theyare the victims, but they are the building ancestors of American; Traditional Chineseculture took deep root in their heart, so they are the emperor of their family andDong: The social status of the "Paper son" made them silent; and also we have theideal fathers who accept both cultures. From these father images, we can conclude that: These Chinese American fatherare the mix of the multiple personality: they are the respectful Asian, at the sametime, they are the Orientals; They are the traditional emperor of their family, andalso the docile alien; They are the hard-working labor, and the victims in theAmerican society.
