Zhangling is an explorer and pioneer of the new immigrant literature. Based on culture of China and West, her novels expand Chinese traditional culture as well as break through creation fence of immigrant literature with world ideology, and focus on the similarities between Chinese and Western culture, which makes the transplantation and transcendence of overseas Chinese modern literature into realization. The succession of self, the transplantation of the Other, and the mergence of both, are characteristics and values of Zhangling's novels, and the standpoint of the thesis. Based on prevenient researches and other procurable, reliable documents, with Archetypal Criticism and text analysis, the thesis roundly elaborates Zhangling's chinese novels published on Chinese mainland: The analysis of family archetype, the figure of daughters and the love pattern, show the cultural succession of self, the analysis of Christ's love, and three types of reinterpreted archetype——the lonely goddess, the lost Ruth and the awkward clergy, illuminate the cultural influence of the Other, especially the influence of Christianity, while through two types of archetype——water and self lost, which exceed borderline of nation, race and culture, the thesis reveals Zhangling's efforts to merge self and the Other, and exceed the themes of new immigrant literature.
