Guangzhou's Economy During The Dominant Period Of Japanese Puppet Army

This dissertation discusses Guangzhou's economic situation and characteristics during the period of Japanese puppet army's occupation, and analyzes the inner reasons why Guangzhou's economy depressed from early prosper, then revived, and broke up at last, which reveals the fact of Japanese economic plundering policy in China . According to different developing periods of economy, this paper is divided into three phases i.e. the Beginning of Guangzhou's being occupied, Pre-phrase of the Pacific Ocean War, and Later stage of the Pacific Ocean War. Chapter 1, Introduction. It mainly explains the meaning of selecting the topic, retrospects the academic history, sources of materials and train of research thought and come up with the questions should be explained. Chapter 2,Guangzhou's economy during the early period of being occupied by Japanese. At that time, the economy was seriously weakened to depression from early prosper. It gives reasons why the economy got depression and expounds the manifestation of the economy decline with historical fact. Moreover, the authorities of Japanese puppet army had robbed Guangzhou economy at the utmost to maintain their colonial domination, adopting a series of guidelines that established public security and revived economy. Chapter 3, Later stage of the Pacific Ocean War. It elaborates the reasons why Guangzhou's economy was"Reviving"and"Developing"under the policies of both sides,"prior to placate and second to give pressures"and expressions of economic revival and development. Indeed, the two phenomena are comparative and deformed, which actually helped Japanese plunderer. Chapter 4, the economy in Later stage of the Pacific Ocean War. It analyses the reasons of Guangzhou Economy's prosperity and breakup, elaborates how Japanese authorities controlled our economy, esp. robbed Guangzhou's economy in order to win the aggressive war. It summarizes the characteristics of the period when Guangzhou was being controlled by Japanese, and further indicates the essence of Japanese economic plundering by adopting the policy of"prior to placate and second to give pressures".
