Mou Yu Khan's Changing Belief To Manichaeism And The Collapse Of Huihu Khanate

The famous overseas scholars Hans-Toachim Klimkeit , P. PELLIOT , E . Chavannes, Haneda Toro and the famous Chinese scholars Chen yuan , Liu yi tang and Lin wu shu have not strictly differentiated the time between the dissemination of Manichaeism to Hui he people and the declaration time of Manichaeism as the Hui hu 's state religion . The large number of materials which are found in Turpan in early 20 century proved that Manichaeism had been disseminated to the central Asia in 3 century A.D. From north– south Dynasties to Sui- Tang Dynasties , many Soghdiq people from Samarqand came to Mobei region to do business . The are plenty of materials to prove that , in Mobei prairie there were Soghdiq people who believed in Manichaeism long before the Turk khanate . In that sense , Manichaeism should be disseminated to Mobey before the foundation of Hui hu Khanate . So it can be concluded that along with the business activities of Soghdiq people , the Hui Hu people had already come into contact with Manichaeism before The Turk Khanate .When it comes to 763A.D we can say that it's the time when Mou Yu khan declared Manichaeism as the Hui hu 's state religion .Centralization of state power system was the distinguishing feature of the central plains regime,but in traditional nomadic society ,the Khan couldn 't centralize the state power . So at the beginning of Hui hu khanate they not only adopted the dominate system of Turk khanate , but also followed Tang Dynasty to strengthen the centralization of state power as well as guarantee the ruling position of Khan . Because of the feature of the nomadic political and economical system ,the adoption of Tang system didn 't meet the need . The lofty position of the Shaman in the traditional nomadic society was still a kind of menace to the Khan . So in order to eliminate Shaman 's special political social right and strengthen Khan 's ruling position , Mou Yu Khan decided to make use of the believers of Manichaeism . Believing in Manichaeism not only can diminish the rights of Shaman but also can bring Hui hu people the opportunity to be became rich by doing business with the help of Soghdiq people who are also believers of Manichaeism .After the declaration of Manichaeism as Hui He 's state religion it accelerated the development of Hui He Khanate 's culture and economy as well as led to conflicts between believers of Shamanism and the believers of Shamanism .It can be said that, the political struggle of Hui Hu Khanate began with the declaration of Manichaeism as a state religion . The conflict between the believers of Manichaeism and the believers of Shamanism was the major factor which led to the interior contradiction of the Hui Hu Khanate.To some up , interior contradiction was the major reason to collapse the Hui Hu Khanate, at the same time the conflicts between the believers of Shamanism and the believers of Manichaeism was the major factor which led to the interior contradiction of the Hui Hu Khanate. From changing belief to Manichaeism there were conflicts between the traditional group and the new noble circle in Hui Hu Khanate. At last those contradictions resulted in the die out of the Hui Hu Khanate.
