The Issue Of The Split And Extinction Of The Former Turkic Khanate

The internal conflicts and the fall of Former Turkic Khanate has been the most controversial topic in the Turkic Khanate history research.The end of 6 B.C is the start of Turkic Khanate began declining from prosperity.After the death of Khan Taspar(??),the conflicts for the Khan's throne broke out between Khan Ishbara(???)and Khan Apa(??).The succession of Ishbara made the situation even worse.In 583,when in the war with Sui Dynasty,it showed the separating purposes of the Khans of different ranks absolutely.Ishbara's sudden strike to Apa forced him to flee to Khan Tardu(????),then Tardu involved in such conflict,as a result,the internal conflicts finally became the civil war.Since then,Turkic Khanate began dividing and declining.After 20 years of civil war,Former Turkic Khanate finally divided into Eastern and Western Turkic Khanates.This thesis mainly discusses about Western Turkic Khanate,and then makes analysis about every political system of Turkic Khanate,the internal and external causes of the khanate's division,and the specific time and year of the establishments of the 2 khanates.This thesis based on the internal conflicts in Khanate as the breakthrough point,and makes analysis and research of the succession to the khan's throne,the formation of the concept of Western Turkey,the division of the khanate,the reasons of the decline of the 2 khanates,and the fall of the khanates.This thesis could be divided into 3 parts,preface,text and conclusion.The first chapter discussed the khan's family and the succession system.Since the establishment of former Turkic Khanate to its fall,there were 8 great khans successed by the system of sons after fathers,brothers after elders,the succession of sons after fathers is the most priority.Because of the variousness of the historical materials,it's very important to compare them.The record of Western Turkey in the history of Sui Dynasty and North Zhou Dynasty didn't mean to make a historical record for Western Turkic Khanate,the authors one-sided regarded Apa family and Istmi(???)families of the Turkish tribes as Western Turkic Khanate,so the authors mixed the concepts Western Turkey with Western Turkic Khanate.Western Turkey is a geographical concept;it means western part of Turkic Khanate.But Western Turkic Khanate is a regime concept,it means after Former Turkic Khanate divided,the Western Turkic Khanate which stood against Eastern Turkic Khanates.The founder of the Western Turkic Khanate is Khan Niri(??),But the ruling family didn't actually come from the Apa family,but the combination of Niri and Apa families,the rulers were Khans of different ranks until the fall of Former Turkic Khanate in 603 B.C.
