With the development of the campaign to promote native products in modern China, the new industrial associations became important associations independent of chambers of commerce. Since long ago, the scholars have paid more attention on the study of chambers of commerce and trade councils, rather than on the industrial associations. As one topic of the Shanghai Society branch the 15th plan projects "the old Shanghai's industry and commerce association studies", this thesis takes Shanghai Chamber of Industry in turbulent era as research object. Shanghai Chamber of Industry was in current political situation change turbulent age in which economic crisis repeatedly erupted. The third part investigates characteristics of the organization of Shanghai Chamber of Industry and its operation, according to comparative study with previous industrial association. The fourth part studies it in social networks, focus on the relations between Shanghai Chamber of Industry and the Nationalist government and other industrial and commercial associations. The fifth part investigates the changes, the role and the end of Shanghai Chamber of Industry after Shanghai was liberated. The sixth part is a conclusion, the author reviews Shanghai Chamber of Industry and provides a simple evaluation on it.
