| Virtual communication means the process that strangers encounter, know and understand each other. With the development and popularization of computer and network, virtual communication has been a new communicative style. College students have been the main body of virtual communication as the growing number of people. According to the survey of China net in 2006, people (age from 18 to 24 years old ) account for 35.1 percent of internet users, and 54.7 percent of them are college students. In fact, virtual communication has been college student's compulsory curricula, a student who has not own his QQ will be laughed at, just like he hasn't yet joined in the Communist Youth League as a college student. They chat, discuss and share all kinds of news and games etc. In a word, communication with strangers on network has been indispensable part of college students' life. Then, how about the statement of college students' virtual communication? Why do college students like virtual communication so much? Which psychological reasons promote virtual communication? This study trys to answer these questions by interviewing, investigation and so on.Using reference analysis, inventory investigation, factor analysis, this study discusses the motivation and psychological factors that make college students' virtual communication, and constructs the model of developing process of virtual communication. In addition, this study discusses the statement of virtual communication from demonstration, aims to explore the psychology and statement of college students' virtual communication and hopes to provide meaningful suggestion for education. From this study we can draw some conclusions as following:1 Two questionnaires (study of motivation, study of psychological factors which promote virtual communication) have both good reality and validity.2. Virtual communication has been prevalent phenomenon at college. College students make virtual communication for net friends, however then can't make more net friends in deed. In addition college students who have more friends in real life have more net friends, and boys have more net friends than girls.3. College students' attitude to virtual communication is serious, proper, orthodox, rational and mature. Virtual communication is much similar to realistic communication, College students hold the same principle as real life's.4. Virtual communication has little influence on life and learning, and the main influence is beneficial.5. There are two motivations of virtual communication: overcoming loneliness and gaining social support, and "overcoming loneliness" has more propotion, Boys have stronger motivation of "overcoming loneliness". In addition, college students who can adapt well to realistic life don't need to overcome loneliness and gain social support on network, so their motivation is to gaining realistic development.6. The factors that promote college students' virtual communication are understanding each other, identifying each other, and supporting each other. "Identifying each other" is key factor of them. In addition, "identifying each other" is especially important for boys.7. "Self-disclosure each other" is not main factor that promotes college students' virtual communication. This is different from adults.8. "Identifying each other" is the only factor that influences virtual communication's time and produces "supporting", so it is key for forming net friendship.9. Virtual communication is not main part of college students' life but complementary, and it can't replace realistic communication. |
