The Study Of Vocabulary In Dialect Of Xing Yang

The County Xing yang is located in the hinterland of Central Plains, and the dialect there belongs to the Mandarin of it's location. It's the common understanding of experts on dialect that pronunciation and grammar are the two main characters of one dialect, which has caused the phenomena that the research on dialect always cares too much about the so called"two main characters"and has neglected the research on the vocabulary, especially the vocabulary of Mandarin system. This paper is written for exploring some characters of the vocabulary in Xing yang dialect, and reflecting the characters of the vocabulary of Mandarin in part. Meanwhile, the paper will make initial exploration in the history of Xingyang dialect and the reasons for it's development, making attempt to show and prove the laws of the development of one dialect.This paper can be divided into three parts, they are introduction, main body and conclusion.The introduction is centered on the establishment of the research on dialect and the deficiency of the research on vocabulary of it. In addition, I will also talk about the reason why I chose this topic and how it's going on in nowadays.The main body is consisted of two chapters. The first chapter generalizes the history of Xingyang county,which summarizes the origin of it's name, the history and the present situation of this county. It also explored the history and the reasons of the development of Xingyang dialect. This chapter has generalized three aspects which influenced the development of it and found the historical reasons for the characters of it's vocabulary.The second chapter is the key part of the whole paper. It mainly describes the top five examples which could reflect the vocabulary characters of Xingyang dialect, and has summarized some characters of the whole vocabulary of this dialect through analyzing these examples. Meanwhile, this chapter also took some ancient words of Xingyang for example, which is meant to show the inheritance and the development of Xingyang dialect in history.The conclusion summarizes the whole thesis. In the last part, I have made a table about vocabulary comparison between Xingyang dialect and some other dialect, except for Mandarin. This comparison means to show the relationship between Xingyang dialect and these ones.
