On Wen Gongyi's Study Of Moist Logic

Wen Gongyi is not only a famous logician, but also a philosopher and an educator. Wen Gongyi made great contribution to the study of Chinese ancient logic, had written The History Of Logic Pre- Qin Dynasty, The History Of Logic Of The Medieval Times Of China, The History Of Logic Of The Recent antiquity and other works. The study of Moist Logic is very important in Wen Gongyi's study of Chinese Logic. With his unique research angle and methods, Wen Gongyi systematically researched the logical method of Moist School, and revealed us the Pre-Qin Moist school logic scholars'prominent contribution to the Chinese logic.Wen Gongyi had his own characteristics as well as to utilize the research technique on his study of Moist Logic. Wen Gongyi divided the Pre-Qin logic scholars into two schools: Dialectics and Names'Rectification. Wen Gongyi regarded Moist school as one part of Dialectics, and carried on his research contrasting with the school of the Names'Rectification, established one new way to the study of Moist Logic. This plays an important model role to us on the study of Chinese logic.Based on the foundation of the contrast between Chinese and the western logic, Wen Gongyi conducted the concrete research to the Moist Logic .He studied the Moist Logic according to the western logic frame, studied the concept theory, the judgment theory, the inference theory and the logical role of the Moist logic .Wen Gongyi regarded Moist Logic as one kind of intentional logic ,and named as"Three Objects Logic"Wen Gongyi's study on Moist Logic had important influence and significance to the research of Moist Logic and even to the study of Chinese ancient logic.
