The purpose of this research was to develop the resilience scale for university students, and to analyze the reliability and validity of the scale.By making the deep interview in university students and referring to the literature of resilience, the resilience scale's dimensions and items were set up. Then, 451 university students from Hebei Normal University, Hebei Medical University and Hebei University of Economics and Business were tested. On the base of the item analysis and exploratory analysis, constructed the formal scale of the university resilience. Last, we analyzed the reliability, validity and the whole status of resilience scale in 1141 students from 5 representative universities in Shijiazhuang.Through the item analysis and exploratory analysis, the scale of resilience contained 38 items finally, and composed by 8 dimensions, family supports, friends supports, social competence, the attitude of optimism and tolerance, self-values, self-identity, self-control, self-adjustment.The reliability analysis showed that 8 dimensions were good, Cronbach'sαof the resilience scale was 0.91, the sub-scales'αwere from 0.67 to 0.81; Split-half of the scale was 0.87, the sub-scales'split-half were from 0.52 to 0.77, 38 items'test-retest were from 0.60 to 0.88.Confirmatory factor showed that much of the scale was fit of the standards for the psychology statistics and psychology measure, and the results also showed the configuration of the scale could be accepted on the whole; The contents validity and criterion-related validity of the scale were also confirmed very well. The research also studied the influence factors about the resilience in university students. We primary compared the university students'resilience on the gender, grade, etc. the results show that: 1) In the social competence and the attitude of optimism and tolerance sub-scales, male was higher than female (p<0.01); 2) In the family and friend supports sub-scales, female was better than male (p<0.01); 3) In the sub-scale of family support, grade one was higher than grade four (p<0.05); 4) In the social competence sub-scale, the singleton was better than non- singleton (p<0.05); the students from city were better than country (p<0.01).As a whole, the scale had good reliability and validity, but very few dimensions need perfect more.
