Objective: The purpose of this research was to develop the well-being scale for university students of Hebei province, and to analyze the reliability and validity of the scale.Methods: The university students of Hebei province were surveyed in the study. Through visiting college students, consulting literature the theory of the well-being scale for university students was set up. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analytic approaches were used to develop and evaluate the intra-structure of the scale. The reliability analysis included split-half reliability, Cronbach's Alpha, and repeating reliability. The validity analysis included content, construct, and criterion-related.Result: Through consulting large numbers of correlative literature , deep visiting university students , open questionnaire, and visiting experts, 85 items finally make up of the scale which include 8 dimensionalities: family satisfaction, friends satisfactions school work satisfaction, affection satisfactions aim senses circumstance adaptability, ego admittings personality growth. The 85 items constitutes first draft of the well-being scale for Chinese university students. The first draft was used for predicting analysis for the sake of analyzing items and initiative exploratory factor analysis, and the items which were not fit of the standards for the psychology statistics and psychology measure were deleted from the scale.About the analyzing the reliability and validity of the scale, firstly a large sample were measured by use of the remainder items. Two exploratory factor analysis were carried out in the one half of the samples, some items were deleted and finally 8 dimensionalities were taken out though exploratory factor analysis. The 8 dimensionalities (39 items) included friends satisfaction , family satisfaction , self-confidences substantiate senses affection satisfactions personality growth, aim senses circumstance adaptability .The confirmatory factor analysis were carried out in the other half of the samples. The results showed that much of was fit of the standards for the psychology statistics and psychology measure, and the results also showed the configuration of the scale can accepted on the whole.
