The ecological crisis is one of most serious problems in the modern society. Aseries of solution based on science, economy, politics and law etc. have been adoptedto eliminate the crisis. Education of ecological morality describe such crisis from theviewpoint of morality and aim to improve the ecological moral level of people and makeevery one self-conscious to maintain the harmonic state between human and nature, sothat the basic ecological principles and criterions should be obeyed by everyone in therelationship between human and nature.Taoism in Chinese traditional culture involves plentiful ecological ideology. Theexcellent historical and cultural patrimony should be re-discovered and described fromthe viewpoint of ecological morality. It will enrich and and consummate the academicarchitecture of education of contemporary ecological morality, but also make the theethical ecological education more feasible.The thesis is divided into three chapters to describe the relationship between Taoistideology and contemporary ecological education.Chapter one describe the background of the relationship between Taoist ideologyand ecological education, the status of contemporary ecological education, special mean-ings of Taoist ideology for contemporary ecological education, and the possibility ofadoption of Taoist ideology to the ecological education.Chapter two describe the resources involved in Taoist ideology for contemporaryecological education from six aspects:(1). Holism of human and nature. (2). Usageof nature based on ecology. (3). Equality between human being and other species.(4).Usage of nature reasonably. (5). Proper consumption (6). Emotion of ecology. Bycomparison of such resources, the theory and practical basis are provided for adoptionof Taoist ideology to contemporary ecological education.Chapter three propose four ways for adoption of Taoist ideology to contemporaryecological education:(1). Teach the Taoist ideology and ecology in classroom. (2).Intro-duce the Taoist ecology ideology in the education of traditional culture.(3). Make touristfeel the Taoist ecology ideology. (4). Popularize the ecological morality by modern media.The aim of thesis is to make people understand the relation between Taoist ideology and contemporary ecological education, realize the importance of Taoist ideology andapply it to the ecological education.
