Liuxiang was a famous litterateur,historian of Han dynasty. Xin Xu is his magnum opus. This paper will study the disyllabic and polysyllabic words in Xin Xu from the construction mode point of view, with the destination of putting this book into historical river and studing the evolvement and development of the ancient disyllabic and polysyllabic words.explore the development of the general rules of polysyllabic words in Chinese.correct evaluation of Xin Xu as the ancient language of the transition period to cuba carrier,and the status and history of the development of ancient Chinese language,thus history deting to the Han language to provide some information.The paper will do such things as follows:Above all,searching out all in Xin Xu and calculating the sum.in the second place,the paper classifies all dixyllabic and polysyllabic words into simply polysyllabic words,coordinative compounds,subordinate compounds,verb-object compounds,subject-predicate compounds,affixations,reduplications,empty words and idioms.subsequently,the paper studies the construction charaters of each sort disyllabic and polysyllabic words thoroughly.the method is: describing the construction mode of disyllabic and polysyllabic words from the aspects of accephases of speech,word order.The work is tremendous,and it is the emphases of the paper.finally,according the achievements of predecessor(including all kinds of works and papers studying the disyllabic and polysyllabic words in one book or in one era),contrasting the construction conditions of the disyllabic and polysyllabic words in Xin Xu with that in Xian Qin,summing the succession and development of the disyllabic and polysyllabic words in Xin Xu on construction.
