In this paper , a method of reading texts in detail is applied to studying its expressing skills and aesthetic effects through putting individual image of Mengchuang ci into the context of a whole texts consisting of 340 Mengchuang ci .This paper consists of three parts. The first part is Chapter One which mainly explains the definition of the context of whole texts. In this paper ,context of whole texts of images in Mengchuang ci is defined as a whole consisting of three levels:First ,it is context of whole texts which consists of 340 Mengchuang cis. In this hierarchy ,the unity of images in Mengchuang ci in whole styles is discussed .Besides this ,it is discussed that the anthor's lot,experience,styles of personality,attitudes to life,love menfality,mental state of poet Wuwenyings and fixed tendency on choosing emotional context under the effect of the mental state are significant to explain concrete images .The different levels divided according to the degree to which evrey poem and whole context agree with eath other in the interior of whole texts are also discussed .second, it is context which is composed of the rest of images except for the images studied in the same poem .Third ,it is context provided by the group to which images belong .The second part consists of Chapter Two,Chapter Three,Chapter four and Chapter Five and it is the mainstay of this paper .In this part ,a conptehensive study of inages is done through putting images in context of whole texts from the following three perspectives:First, it is indirect referential skills of Mengchuang ci .In this section ,four kinds of indirect referential skills are discussed in detail .they are the skill that metaphorical forms appear in place of concept forms ,the skill that Mengchuang ci indirectly refers to images with the way of metonymy ,the skill of piling up immediate impressions emerging when poet Wuwenying are confrontd with images with specific words instead of direct referential images ,and the skill of giving spirit expressions to images subjectively .second, it is direct referential skills of Mengchuang ci .In this section ,three skills are discussed,that is the skill through the way of inversion and dislocation ,the skill through the ording relationship among several direct referential images and the skill through the metaghorical relationship between direct referential images and images used for describing direct referential images.Third ,it is symblic images in Mengchuang ci .This section mainly discusses three kinds of symbolic images.They are whole symbolic images caused by systematism of images of metaphorical death which are produced under the instruction of dead consciousness ,symbolic images which are caused by love-thing mentality and fixed symbolic imagesFourth,it is illusional images in Mengchuang ci .This section also explains three kinds.they are hallucinationally illusional images,illusional images formed through the poet Wuwenying'fancy .And illusional images from illusory matter in the mytholoyg and legends.The third part is Chapter Six .On the basis of preface and mainstay,a conclusion is formed: Mengchuang ci enlarge the aristic images in the direction of deepening of images This kind of deepening is expressed in three facets including the style of images,the status of images in the whole text and some ci and the ways of artistic presentation of images.In the section of the status of images in the whole text,lyric disposition of Mengchuang ci regarding images as the center is discussed in detail .This kind of disposition is expressed in the following parts in Mengchuang ci :1,Images are often the beginning point of Wuwenying's working out the plot and the central clue of ci's expansion.2,Some central images exist in the whole texts of Mengchuang ci.3,There exists central images and groups of central images in some ci.This paper brings forth four new idea:First,it gives a definition of context of whole texts in which images of Mengchuang ci are (in chapter one ) .Second,it also gives a preliminary conclusion to indirect inferential skills and direct referential skills for Mengchuang ci to deal with images (in Chapter Two and Chapter Three).Third,the conclusion is also given systemism of images of metaphorical death in Mengchuang ci obtained from their context of whole texts causes the production of whole symbolism,and it explores dead consciousness and remnant consciousness which are expressed in Mentchuang ci (in Chapter Three) .Fourth,it is thought that Mengchuang ci enlarge artistic images in the direction of deepening of images (in Chapter Six)...
