Research On The Utilitarianism Ethics Thoughts Of ZongHengjia In The Pre-Qin

As one of the "nine classes and ten schools", ZongHengJia(afamous school concerning politics in ZhangGuo Times of the ancientChina) although is not as " outstanding at learning" as theConfucianism and Mohistm, it once had its own brilliance. Yet fewscholars have done any research in this field since its emergencebecause of the historic prejudice and discrimination. As the outcomeof the Axis times in China history, it naturally had its value ofexistence with blaze of wisdom. In recent years, the works onZongHengJia of the Pre-Qin days have come in existence insuccession, but among which there is little study on it especially fromthe view of Ethics, so this thesis is going to conduct the primaryexploration of the Ethic thoughts on it.This thesis consists of four parts. The first part is the introductionwhich at first introduces what is ZongHeng (maneuvering amongvarious status or political groupings), what is ZongHengJia and itsthoughts. And then it comes the introduction of the history and presentstudy on it and its ethics thoughts, and the basic frame of this thesis.The second part is the main body which consists of the first threechapters. The first chapter has analysised the historic background andreason of the production of ZongHengJia and its ethic thoughts fromthe aspect of economics, politics, and military battle, ideologicalculture and society ethos. The second chapter is the core of this thesis,consists of three sections. The first section has introduced theZongHengJia' life ethics of seeking fame and wealth; the secondsection has narrated its political ethics of upholding the strategy; thethird section has explored its talent ethics of attaching greatimportance to the able and virtuous person. The third chapter hasintroduced briefly the comedown of the ZongHengJia of the Pre-Qin days and its apocalypse in modern society ethics thoughts. The forthpart ,the conclusion, has pointed out that in the present days, thelimitation of industrialization is obvious, the globalization isoverwhelming and the view of world is more and more materialized. Itis of great significance to explore and rethink the spring of the localculture.In summary, we explored the thought of ZongHengJia from theviewpoint of Ethics on the ground of the previous study on this school.There is still much room for improvement of this thesis and furtherresearch in this field.
