The Panama Canal is an important water route in the world. It's passing throughthe territory of Republic of Panama, connecting Pacific and Atlantic together, standingan indispensable role in the international sailing.In the 17th century, while the whole America was under Spanish governorship,some adventurers were in a constructive thought of building a canal to joint Pacificand Atlantic together. But according to the low scientific level at that time, and alsothe lack of Spanish governorship itself, the plan couldn't come true. In the late of 18thcentury, the Spaniard began to withdraw from the expansion of England and France,shortly after that, the new independent United States started its own expansion toCenter America under the guide of Monroe Doctrine. In the whole 19th century, theUnited States successfully driven European superpowers out of America, made a fullcontrol of the whole New Continent. In 1903, the US government set and acts therebellion and independence of the former Panama Province in Colombia, A newcountry by full American control was founded.Theodore Roosevelt is a very important president in the American history, as"the father of American navy", he devoted himself in the development of Americanbattleships, naval basis, and as well as military strategy. The building of PanamaCanal is also based on his certain methods. In order to achieve this target, he made thecanal as a national policy, and did everything necessary to making sure the canalwould be successful. The canal is acting an important and inevitable role in Americannaval history in the later years. The object of this paper is about to analyses the important role by importantpersonnel in the important history events, and the route of building this importantcanal is also inevitable.This paper will analyses the methods of President Theodore Roosevelt, and givean answer on the question why he was so enthusiastic in development of naval powerin order to make the whole nation powerful. Through this certain historical incident, astudy of American modern imperialism shall be achieved...
