This paper mostly discusses the inter-relationship between the Gong-yang School and the Han society. Generally Speaking, the Gong-yang School was the special result of a peculiar age, simultaneously, it had imposed great impacts on that whole time. During the Han period, the features of the Gong-yang School-had suffered great changes, but it still inherited the basic Confucian traditions. The Gong-yang School was a successful academic clique. It had played a vital role for the official scholarship of the Confucianism. After its success, the Gong-yang School deeply affected the political policies and academic activities of the Han dynasty. With the disintegration of the Han Empire, the Gong-yang School gradually declined. Of course, there were some exterior factors, but its self-degeneration and inherent theoretical defections were unquestionably the main causes. Undoubtedly, the Gong-yang School had its historical limitations; but it also had impressed positive influence on history. We believe, the research on the Gong-yang School in Han period will greatly enhance our understandings of the unique traditions of China.
