The movie the red detachment of women was born in the beginning of 1960s, and subsequently was adapted into movies afterwards and made a sensation nationwide. It also made a hit after it is adapted into red ballet opera with the great support of the CPC Central Committee. In the period of Cultural Revolution, the opera the red detachment of women was made into movie and played as a "model opera" in the whole country and became one of the top eight "model opera" then. In 1992, The National Ballet of China rehearsals the red detachment of women and had been performed till nowadays. A new round craze of adaptation of the red detachment of women rises in the new century. The novel which is written by Guo Xiao-dong and Xiaojian, basing on the script of the movie created by Liang Xin, becomes a new style in the family of the red detachment of women. Followed appeared is the 21-part series directed by Yuan Jun, which becomes the second new one.As the cannon of "red classics", the varied forms of the adaptation, the length of time of the adaptation, and the great artistic influence is unique in the history of the New China's literary. The paper probes the canonization of "the red classics", and how it is further adapted in the late revolution era, from its production, adaptation, as well as its diffusion. It explains how the narrative pattern of "red classics" changes in different linguistic environment in different time, in the way of attentive text reading, and resolves the endless charm of "red classics" as cannon.
