Nie Hualing is a famous writer residing in America. Field culture vision, profound thought contain and unique artistic style make her novels receive widely attention and good fame. This thesis focuses on the Chinese novels of Nie Hualing published in China to have a systematic and comprehensive clarification and elaboration on them.One of the two key angles approaching to Nie Hualing's novels is the cultural confusion and homesick complex, which was generated after being abandoned mentally and physically. The other one is the anxiety which gradually became severe when her persistent quest for human nature and life consciousness was found failed. The first and the second chapter of the dissertation analyses and discusses the theme of Nie's novels in these two angles respectively.Examining formal features of her works, the mixture, which refers to the tradition with the modernity and the West with the East, and the insistence of thinking femininely are two vital characteristics of her novels. The third chapter will study the reason and appearance of the mentioned mixture. The fourth chapter will argue her works' distinct cultural position from two perspectives, the femininity and genetic coherence.
