Filialpiety culture is a very important part of China's traditionalcultural treasure Through the ages, filial piety culture fulfils a usefulfunction in propagating Chinese traditional virtue, maintaining familyharmony, strengthening national unity and stabilizing society.Boshan filial piety ovigins from a beatitiful legend:At the end ofeast zhou Dynasty, a lady called Yan Wenjiang in Qi Kingdom whosehusband died after marriage was maltreated by her mother-in-law. But shestill shows filial piety to the mother-in-law. Later, she died in order to sowepeople from floods. In the place where she died, there appearel a spring, ieFairy Spring, and a Filial Lady River. Later, people set up a temele tomemerize her filial virture. In feudal society, Yan Wenjiang was res pettedby rulers and rewarded as "Virtuous Lady". The stories about herappeared in Jin Dynasty, Northern and Southern Dynasties, Tang Dynastyand Yuan Dynasty. Through the history tales, documents and temple tabletrecords, this essay tries to analyse the erigin of Yan Wenjiang filialpiety, and in this way tries to reflect women's status in feudal society andYan wenjiang's virtue;what's more, the essay tries to show filial piety's inflience in Boshan area and probe into Boshan filial piety culture'simportant functien in the process of China's modernization. Yan Wenjiang tilial piety culture is a spiritual treature from ourancestor. Nowadays, since people pay more a ttention to regionalculture, we shoulel exploit Boshan culture, thus we can get more chancefor the development of regional attracting business and culturaltourism, them we can develop new in creasing points in the growing ofregional finance.
