On The Life Sense Of Li He's Poetry

Sadness, oddness, and novelty are the well-known features of Li He's poetry. Living in Mid-Tang dynasty when the country experienced constant wars, Li He suffered from ailments and professional valley, which enriched his poetry with hard life experiences, strong desire for survival, urgency in using time. The thesis is designed to discuss and analyze the life sense of Li He's poetry from four perspectives.In the introduction part, the author elaborated the contemporary study of Li He's poetry and laid a definition to life sense. The outstanding part of life sense is life anxiety which is time anxiety in fact. Consideration of time is actually the consideration of life with a form of contrasting the limitless of time and the limit of human life. All the life sense in the thesis refers to time anxiety, that is, the consideration of the passing time and the shortness of human life.The originality of the life sense in poetry is discussed in the first chapter. The author illustrated the originality of life sense and its influence on Li He's poetry from three aspects like: sprouting of life sense in ancient poetry, urgency of the time, consideration of the short life-span. Life sense, as an eternal theme in Chinese poetry, had been pursued by poets from all generations just as their pursuing of human intuition and self value. There are abundant and specific time images in ancient poetry to represent life sense. Li He inherited the life sense in ancient literature and enriched it in his poetry.In chapter two, the author illustrated the manifestation of life sense in Li He's poetry. They are: strong anxiety for survival, strong urgency for time, and strong anxiety of death. The poet made constant investigation of life value, living condition, the relationship between life and poetry, life and death in his poetry. He poured in all his passion into poetry making. Immerging and contradicting relationship between life and poetry lays an obvious trace for the readers to see the struggle in the poet's mind, and the value of poetry and life.In chapter three, the author discussed the reason why life sense is so typical in Li He's poetry from three perspectives like: social and historical factors, his life experiences, and his personality. In his short life, the poet suffered from ailment in life, which enriched his poetry with life anxiety and time sense. It is his life experience breeds his strong life sense with the forms of survival anxiety, time urgency and death anxiety. His poetry fully reflects his strong life sense in his heart.The creativity of this thesis lies in its discussion of life sense and analyzed and discussed Li He's poetry on the knowledge of aesthetics, philosophy and psychology, which bridged the gap of studying Li He's poetry only from literature. At the same Time, the thesis deeply analyzed the reason why there was typical life sense in Li He's poetry, which paved the way for further study of Li He's poetry.
