Linwu county is located at the extremely south part of Hunan, and Linwu dialect is classified as Xiangnan Slice according to Chinese Language Atlas. Linwu dialect has its typical features; however, the studies related to it are not enough. This paper makes a study of Linwu (Dachong) Tuhua, and does a comprehensive description and specified discussion of it. The paper includes three chapters.The first chapter is phonology. This chapter generally introduces the phonology system and features of Dachong Tuhua. This chapter includes the statement of Linwu (Dachong) Tuhua's initials, finials, tones; the relations between initials, finials and tones; tone sandi of bisyllable; the discussion of the features of its initials, finials and tones through a comparison of Dachong Tuhua and its neighbor dialects (South Hunan Tuhua, North Guangdong Tuhua, and Guibei Pinhua), and the author's relevant questions; itscomparisons with the phonetic sounds of Beijing and medieval times; and homophonysyllabary.The second chapter is vocabulary. This chapter mainly involves some collected words that have different pronunciations to Putonghua, and appropriately states the meanings of them. The vocabulary in this chapter can be divided into 28 categories according to these words' meanings.The third chapter is grammar. This chapter introduces the affix of Dachong Tuhua, and discusses the usage of the Dynamic Auxilidary Verb, Preposition, Pronoun, Quantifier, and Negation of Dachong Tuhua.
