Chinese painting is a kind of form of culture and art expression cultivated by Chinese traditional culture with distinct national nature and cultural status.Chinese cultural character endows Chinese painters with special values and transcendent cultural qualities in the domain of cognition, styles of thinking and expressing of painting. In contrast to the western paintings that focuses on the visual effect , Chinese painters express their deep idealistic connotation and feelings by visual layout of painting, so a kind of thinking styles which can be called"yi da guan xiao"here was formed naturally."Yi da guan xiao"means that painters must have a macroscopic grasp to what he will paint, get rid of the restriction of realistic space conception and the properties of nature, and pursue the expressing freedom in painting: abundant inner world to simple technical language of painting, unlimited space through limited painting paper."Yi da guan xiao"and getting the big through the small shows the concern of the painter's spiritual world and cultural psychology to the society and nature.The essay tries to explain the unique thinking styles of the creation of Chinese paintings by borrowing the word"yi da guan xiao",and basically states the essential difference between Chinese paintings and the western ones in order to guide the creation of Chinese paintings to a right road that fits our national characteristics.Cultural heritage method , comparison method and enumeration method.The formation of the subjective world can not get away from the hotbed of the thought that conceives it. That is to say that the painters'thinking ways of creation can not get away from the psychological thoughts of Chinese tradition----the three kinds of thinking systems of Confucianism, Taoism, and Chan. Especially the Taoism focusing on the Lao Zhuang's thoughts is really the spirit of Chinese arts.Therefore, by exploring the connotation of the thinking styles of"yi da guan xiao"and the thought source of its formation, the essay concentrates on expression of lines, think of pen and ink, layout that are basic elements of Chinese paintings, taking them as grounds of arguments , to expound and prove that the thinking style of"yi da guan xiao"is all through the creation of Chinese paintings. The application of lines is to draw out different kinds of lines which are full of connotation of lives by the nimble motion of hands , basically presenting the painters'devotion to life and expressing Chinese painter's natural opinion of"the combination of heaven and human". In terms of pen and ink, the argument concentrates on the relationship of techniques and doctrines , things and reasons. The uppermost application of pen and ink is practicing makes perfect, and to such an extent that ink can retreat but not immerge ,showing people's cognition and worship to Taoism in their deep mind. When expounding and proving the element of layout, the article demonstrates that the layout should be the expression of the doctrines of Yin and Yang .The management of the small world in a picture fully reflects the motion rules of a big universe. It still reflects Chinese people's traditional world outlook.It is very important to research national culture deeply, to carry on the excellent national tradition and to establish the status of national paintings in the present age.Painters must enter the drawing creation to explore the rule and dare to innovate by a sincere mind to offer the beautiful work.
