The Study Of Taoism In Lanzhou

In recent years,regional Taoism research has gradually become a new trend of contemporary Taoism research,but Lanzhou Taoism has not attracted the full attention of academics.This paper will take four important Taoist Temples in the Lanzhou area as typical cases,including Xuanmiao Guan,Town God Temple,Jintian Guan and Baiyun Guan,which is aimed to study the Lanzhou Taoism.On the one hand,it shows the development course of Taoism in lanzhou by combing the history of Taoist Temples,the scale of construction and the continuation of Taoist.On the other hand,the multi-social function of lanzhou Taoism is revealed by discussing the interaction between lanzhou Taoism and local social strata.In this paper,Xuanmiao Guan reflects the long-term relationship and consistency between Taoism in lanzhouand and National Taoism,Town God Temple demonstrates the important value of secretly helping social ethics,Jintian Guan combines the dual functions of the mission and defending the frontier through culture,Baiyun Guan has a unique coexistence mode withl taoist abbot and local forceswith.These discussions will help us to enhance our understanding of Taoism in Lanzhou and to raise our thinking about the complex role of Taoism in traditional Chinese society.
