The French revolution is a milestone in the process of French modernization and inevitably extends its far-reaching influence over the French countryside, which not only makes it easier for us to understand the process and essence of the French revolution from the angel of reforming countries, but also deepen the comprehension of the tortuous French modernization course. What's more, it provides a model for the modernization of our country. At first, the Revolution smashed the yoke of feudalism on peasantry, and a large number of peasants obtained land ownership. However, the Revolution strengthened the small-scale peasantry ideology instead of changing it. As a result, the political tropism of the peasantry was inclined to conservatism after the Revolutionary.Secondly, on one hand, the Revolution hastened the collapse of rural commune as well as brought about the trend of modernization in the rural social structure. On the other hand, the Revolution even consolidated the society of small-scale peasantry in the countries, having tradition of rural society still existing. Finally, the Revolution changed the structure of land occupancy, and at the same time removed feudal remnants in the form of agricultural operation. Nevertheless, after the Revolution the small-scale peasant economy occupied the leading position in the rural areas, corns and grapes in agricultural production, which evolved an insuperable impediment to French agricultural growth after the Revolution. It will be seen from the French Revolution′s influence over the countries that reforming the countries is not the work of a single day for their deep-rooted traditions, and that promoting the harmonious relationship between the city and country is a significant content in the course of modernization.
