Eating utensils are the objects that used in storage, presentation and serving of food. If a person wants to survive he must rely on food , the appearance of eating utensils is to meet people's needs,and its shape design affects the quality of people's directly. The eating utensils which designed by people on one hand is to meet their needs, on the other hand it also gets along with the era's technical level, the aesthetic judgment, people's eating habits and other aspects of community.The Tang dynasty, which, particularly from the mid-seventh to the mid-eighth century, is considered one of the great periods in Chinese history. The period was also known as the world's leader in politics, economy and culture at that time. In this article the writer analyzed the surrounding, the type and shape of the eating utensils in Tang Dynasty, the function beauty the formal beauty in the Tang Dynasty's eating utensils, and with the following features through the finding : First, this period of prosperity food culture, the people's dietary requirements increase, promote relevant eating utensils such as bowls ,wine vessels, tea wares designed to increase its input in order to meet the requirements .And the eating utensils designed in Tang put the function first whether in the choice of determining the scale or the shape; Second, thanks to a stable domestic situation and prosperous trade between China and the west, a large amount of western goods were brought into China, which made the shape of bowls , cases and plates changed to magnificent effect ; Third, the history of this period is also known as the golden age of gold and silver vessels production (most of them are eating utensils).Exotic gold and silver from western and central Asia , Rome were introduced to China and had great influence on China which resulted in a rapid development of gold and silver production in China itself. The production of gold and silver artifacts can be shown enthusiasm and wisdom far exceeds the input of other items. The use of gold and silver remained exclusive within the imperial family and high-ranking officials ,and ordinary people always use ceramic material for counterfeiting .This forging made a direct result that our ceramic molding technology or eating utensils in the shape and form have a very a big difference with the previous dynasties, and basically laid a foundation for such a change Tang Dynasty ceramics from all forms of the basic for modeling ; Fourth, by this time people's lifestyle was changed ,sat on the ground was gradually replaced by sat on the chair ,which will lead to a different lifestyle. And eating utensils which were most closely associated with people's lives artifacts would also changed in the shape design.The discourse provides studies and analysis on the design of eating utensils in the Tang Dynasty, trying to find the design conception and the aesthetics merit of the eating utensils in the Tang Dynasty .Analysis focused on the unique compared with the previous eating utensils, and hope to obtain useful inspiration for contemporary design.
