Recent years,with the formation and development of gender archaeology, female heritage research are getting more attention of scholars both at home and abroad.Female archaeological heritage research mainly refers to the study of material remains which are related to females in archaeological discovery,and the exploration of female status, ideology and morals at that time.However, the research of gender archaeology has concentrated itself on the prehistoric and bronze age for a long time,resulting in the insufficiency of study in historical period.Compared with other stages,the female style and features of Tang dynasty is especially striking.Therefore, this paper selects the topic of dressing utensils of Tang Dynasty,which can reflect the female style and features at that time, for the purpose of bridging the gender archaeology study on historical period.Chapter one mainly discusses the classification research on female dressing utensils of Tang Dynasty.We sort the dressing utensils from burials of Tang dynasty systematically according to the time, in particular to pay attention to the related relics which are clear dating single graves.we divide it into three categories,there are accessories, dressing articles and trousseau.We discuss about the hair clasps,hairpins,combs and boxes to figure out the feature and technological characteristics of dressing utensils of Tang Dynasty,reference tombs murals, carved lines, figurines,Dunhuang frescoes, paintings and other masterpieces that reflect women Features decorative images and physical information, and study jewelry makeup with the implementation and use of information, in-depth understanding of women in the Tang Dynasty style and style ornaments.The second chapter aims to explore the combination of dressing utensils in the Tang Dynasty. In well preserved and female Tombs with relative abundance of dressing utensils in Tang Dynasty,there containes occasionally a combination of dressing utensils including hair clasps,hairpins,combs,mirrors and boxes.In the general female tombs, it is also common that remains of hairpins, mirrors, combs. According to the poetry and the image point of view, the Tang female’s adornments is especial outstanding, including hair, headgear and face makeup and so on.Behind the complicated ornaments whether there is a whole set of dressing combined appliance, and to discuss what kind of dressing utensils are contained in usual sense, combining the above data of the tombs which are interpreted in the second part of this article.Chapter three studys the social life of Tang dynasty which reflected by the dressing utensils.Dozens of Tang Dynasty tombs are discovered in Xingyuan,Yanshi area,which distribute relatively concentrated.Most of them are saving in good conditions, and the owners of these tombs are identified clearly, they belong to much lower middle class in the Tang Dynasty;Meanwhile,Recent years there excavates and released a large number of tombs that are mostly belong to roughscuffs in Feng Xiang,Shanxi Province.What’s more, the tombs of human bone identification results are scientific.Take the above mentioned of the Tang Dynasty tomb materials in the two areas for example.By the discussion of the different dressing utensils used in the tombs of different age and different gender classes, we want to figure out the characteristers of dressing utensils used for funerary burial customs and the similarities and differences between male and female dressing utensils in tombs;At last,combined with other areas of high-grade tombs of the Tang Dynasty,we will analyze the hierarchy and the social status of women in the Tang dynasty which are reflected by dressing utensils,and to explore the culture of Tang dynasty dressing utensils,especially for the establishment and formation of hairpin-wear system.
