Study on perceptual asymmetries is one of the key topics in cognitive psychology. But compared with vision, studies of auditory perceptual asymmetries were relatively scarce. Especially, no study of auditory perceptual asymmetries within one dimension has been conducted. In the current study, three experiments were conducted using the rapid serial presentation paradigm to investigate the auditory perceptual asymmetries within frequency modulation, duration and intensity. The main results of the study are as follows,(1) The condition of searching warble sounds from steady distractors is easier than vice versa.(2) The condition of searching long duration sounds from short duration distractors is easier than vice versa.(3) The condition of searching loud sounds from soft duration distractors is easier than vice versa.Based on the results of the present study, the conclusion is that the perceptual asymmetries can occur in frequency modulation, duration and intensity in the auditory within one dimension.
