The article uses Chinese characters as experimental materials and adopts tachistoscopic visual half-field technique to probe into the interhemispheric interaction. The research is made up of three experiences, which respectively examine lateralization and integrated effect of the brain in terms of Chinese character's shape, pronunciation and meaning. Experiment One makes researches on what effect the shape of Chinese characters of different complication degrees has on cerebral hemispheres. The results shows that the inter-hemisphere processing of Chinese characters with simpler strokes is much weaker than the inner-hemisphere processing, while there is no much difference between inter-hemisphere processing and inner-hemisphere processing of Chinese characters with complicated strokes, and the left hemisphere has much more advantages in such processing. Experiment Two examines how the brain processes Chinese characters with similar shape and same pronunciation and characters with different shape but same pronunciation, and finds the left hemisphere has much more advantages in telling Chinese characters with similar shape and same pronunciation, inter-hemisphere processes characters with different shape but same pronunciation in a better way than inner-hemisphere, therefore, there appears gain effect of cerebral hemispheres. Experiment Three researches on cerebral processing of categorization of Chinese characters with different frequencies. The result is inter-hemisphere processes characters with low frequency in a better way than inner-hemisphere, and there appears gain effect of cerebral hemispheres. However, Chinese characters with high frequency do not have such effect. Besides, the right hemisphere has much more advantages in telling Chinese characters with high and low frequency. The whole research renders support to the influence of processing difficulty exerts on inter-hemisphere gain effect, and concludes inter-hemisphere gain does not hinder inner-hemisphere advantage from appearing.
