An Interpretation Of Nuo Culture From The Perspective Of Symbolic Anthropology

In Jing,Shi,Zi and Ji ,the "Nuo"had been seen extensively record ,while the study of"Nuo"culture was began in the late Qing Dynasty by the scholar——Wang Guowei.After then, scholars, at home and abroad ,which came from different fields and disciplines ,made a depth study of"Nuo"culture from the perspectives of History of Theater, Folklore, Art and soon on .In 1980s and 1990s , the study of"Nuo"culture was crazy and fruitful.However, shortly speaking, the study of"Nuo"culture was foused on the origin and the significance on the Occurrence of drama ,on the superficial characteristics ,the artistic value ,and the material collecting in the past.Based on the fieldwork and literature study ,embedded from the perspective of symbolic, interpreted from the object—Duguan ceremony in Sinan ,northeast of Guizhou, dramed from the theory of symbolic Anthropology of West, the theme of the symbolic system of Nuo culture was interpreted in this paper.In addition to the introduction, the full text was divided into four chapters, the first chapter made an description as Ethnography of Duguan ceremony in Sinan,northeast of Guizhou, and gave the base for the latter interpretation; II, III and IV respectively put interpretation on Duguan ceremony in Sinan ,northeast of Guizhou through the structure, symbolic expression and symbolic metaphor.The writer thought that the Duguan ceremony expressed the basic structure of thinking of the local people—the dual structure and ternary structure,but the core structure was the dual structure, other structures were the derivatives of the dual structure; Duguan ceremony also had a variety of symbolic expression, such as ancestral identity , the sacred secular power, the life threshold and so on. These symbolic expression was really a reflection of history and the society. Meanwhile, many acting signs ,physical signs, and position signs of the Duguan ceremony had a profound metaphor.In short, Nuo culture was the important components of traditional cultural of nation. Putting interpretation on the symbolic system deepened the understanding of cultural value ,strengthened the protection and inheritance of Nuo culture ,and planted a Chinese evergreen tree--"living fossil of drama".
