Oral tradition is a kind of oral literature concerning myths, legends, folk songs and tales and some other related expressing culture and verbal arts as well. The oral language can display a kind of cultural activity in itself with typical form, and particularly, it may reflect the mode of culture. when combining the nation's established life.On the basis of through analysis of related documents, this paper completely expounds the contents and forms of the oral literature of .At the some time, by using materials of field work and many visual investigation, the author puts these works back to the concrete contexts of life, and investigates the relation between these works and people's custom life and their process of changes.In this paper, works of oral tradition in different periods of Tu nationality's history are divided into three types, verse, prose and life wisdom in them. Meanwhile, from the visual angle of anthropology, the author has studied a whole, not only does she pay attention to the singers' position and function, but also she thinks over the coexistence of several religious beliefs, the changes of life style, and the female cultural features.Thus, she tries to find out the national mentality and the diverse compound cultural features of this ethnic group.
