"Negative space" exists comparing with "positive space", its importance is the almost the same as "positive space". It can make the painting united, form the art of composition, enhance the sense of shape, generate the art atmosphere of picture; it is also an experience of artistic culture. The concept of "negative space" is widely used in plane design. However, it could be considered that from the emerging of painting, the issue of "negative space" is involved in many 2D space painting categories. The application of 3D space in now days could at restrict it, which give new significance to the art of painting. Paying attention to subjective design and enriching the "negative space" is still the main task of painting. In Chinese traditional aesthetic ideology, the White could be considered as the Black, the actual condition inside of the painting and the emptiness outside of the painting together generates the imagination in mind. The "negative space" is included in the background.. The research on "negative space" of fine-brush painting is to embody the "subjective space" consciously, enrich and adjust it.From the point view of now days, the article mainly adopts the concept of "negative space", which is not mentioned in the research of Chinese fine-brush flower-and-bird painting, from two aspects, i.e. visual embodying and present age's consciousness, to try to research the "negative space" in Chinese fine-brush flower-and-bird painting. It considers that, as a language essence, "negative space" is widely used in past and present age. By means of "negative space" factor, it explains the relationship among image, structure and painting skill in fine-brush flower-and-bird painting, meanwhile, analyzes many aspects such as the formation, maintaining, attention and characteristic of the visual factor of "negative space" by researching the works and the artists in traditional and present lower-and-bird painting circle, and find out the track of innovation. It also surveys the reason of generating such a diversification, and contemplates the intricate theoretical question with close consideration of own invention practice in order to supply remarkable embodying methods to Chinese fine-brush flower-and-bird painting of current age. It analyzes the embodying of "sense", aesthetic connotation and the epoch survey from the mass environment and own substance for the purpose of inheriting and innovating Chinese fine-brush flower-and-bird painting of current age.
