SummaryThere are fifty-five minority in our country include Han nationality. Most of the minority people lived in the border area of our country in all ages. They and the Han people held together, study tighter. They are in contact with each other in policy, economy, and culture. They have been an indiscerptible whole. And the same time, every minority has come into being their own brilliance and inimitable national art during their development in a long time.In the southwest area of our country, where in the central of Xishuangbanna state on the map, there is a mountain called "Jinuo mountain". It lies from north latitude 21°53′11″to 22°9′58″, east longitude 100°53′33″to 101°14′45″. It is covered with virgin forest everywhere. It's a great area where are plenty of propagation resource. In the east of the mountain is Menglun town of Mengia county, in the west is Mengyang town, in the south is Menghan town, in the north is Puwen town and Xiangming village of Mengla county. In the mountain, there is a old and mysterious nationality——"Jinou race"."Jinuo race" is the last minority that is cognizanced to be single race in 1979 by Chinese State Department.60's to 20 centuries, the nation built national defense highway through Jinou mountain, but majority of the Jinou race village had soil road till 20 centuries 90's when the mystery veil of the Kino race was uncovered. That is to say, the Jinou race kept away from the disturbance coming from the outward and kept its original living way before the road was built. Jinou race had been an original matriarchal society clan for a long time in history .It's only about 300 years since the paternity replaced the matriarchal society, so up to now there is still some shadow of the matriarchal society .The dance of Jinou race which I researched not only reappears the appearance and characteristics of the dance of matriarchal society period, but also reflect the religion adoration and custom rite of this race in paternity which continue up to now.I think the dance of Jinou race is the living fossil kept tact of primitive society and life. It is true and vivid, and is extremely good object for our research of original dance of minority. Because the Jinou race has no writing we have had certain difficulty in our research.The main object of our research is one kind of the Jinou race dance----"Big drum dance" or call "The sun of drum dance", which belongs to the Jinou race dance offering sacrifices to ancestry adoration .The information we collected largely comes from oral communication legend of the Jinou person and some correlative history literature for mostly limited. In the course of researching Jinuo dance, it showed that "big drum dance" is effected by mysterious legend. And even more, this dance has consanguineous relationship with universe belief, totem apotheosis and sacrifice for ghosts and gods. Our research of "big drum dance" is just about the appearance and development of this dance. The life style of Jinou have been changed by Hans more or less, but on the other hand, "big drum dance"of Jinou still keep the original tradition and life style of Jinou perfectly. The dance is the right reappearance of Jinou's original culture view. As important as we know, the research of the dance is important supplement of our dance schoolbook. Because there is no exactly example of human's originality dance.My discourse is the first of research to Jinuo's big drum dance for complete and systematic in China. It's can be makeup our barbarism dance study.
