| This dissertation is to study the Big Drum Dance of Jinuo nationality, in Autonomous Prefecture of Dai Minority, Jinghong, Yunnan Province. Based on documenting and summarizing the historical literature and achievements of previous researchers, and the help of field work data, the ecological environment, the essential patterns, changes and cultural functions and other aspects of the dance concerned are deeply and profoundly studied. Through the analysis of the traditional dance in Jinuo Historical and social change, pattern changes, existing forms of dance, we investigate its origin and formation of essential reason, grasp the features of changes of traditional national dance. The study of its contemporary patterns and social functions, would offers us a possible way to develop and carry on the Jinuo dance and make the development of Jino dance represents more present ethnic characteristics and aesthetic value.This thesis is divided into four chapters. The first part introduces the historical existence of natural environment and humanistic environment in general, and this part is For the analysis of Jinuo People in thousands of years to sustain development basic reason to do the groundwork. The second chapter of the Jinuo encouraged the traditional forms, explores the myths of origin, encouraged the traditional production process and taboo, encouraged the jump method and limit time, field and keno music and clothing, and encouraged is closely related to the" special Mao grams" is this chapter's important content; the third chapter is the traditional Jinuo" encouraged" diachronic study. First, formation and development stage (specific time has not been decided); second, turning and continuation phase (ca.1656-1950); third, damage and fracture stage (1958-1979); the forth, recovery and reintegration phase (1980-present). In this four stages, the modern changes is the important stage of its development, because of the big differences in its manifestations, dynamic dance, existential space, and other attributes, which originate from the great changes of society and lifestyle, the development of concepts, the needs of materials and spirit, and the thoughts of innovation and other factors. In the modern stage, Bass Drum Dance has evolved from the original ritual dance of the function of sacrifice to a modern dance of cultural multi-functions, through expanding the functions of "religion","performance","celebration","education","art" and so on. By analysis and summary, in the modern society, the Bass Drum Dance of Jinuo can be summarized as five types:the Bass Drum Dance of sacrifice, the Bass Drum Dance of cultural heritage, the Bass Drum Dance of tourism performance, the Bass the Drum Dance of festival celebration, the Bass Drum Dance of education function, and the Bass Drum Dance of the artistic creation, which prove it having modern cultural multi-functions. In the fourth chapter, it gives us the explosion of social functions of Jinuo. The Bass Drum Dance has multiple social functions, including the continuation of ethnic memory, the strengthening of ethnic beliefs, the enforcement of the social order, the dissemination of cultural knowledge, improvement the interpersonal relationships, and acquirement of spiritual enjoyment. In the study, it is discovered that it has two values, containing the cultural value as the "ethnic ancient books" to strengthen ethnic identities and express the national spirit, from the view of this nation; and the value of being foundation to the development of cognitive thinking and construction the original aesthetic concepts which its "language" and "Mythology " demonstrate the aesthetic thinking cognitive language. In addition, the Bass Drum Dance, as a basic way of life, is the bridge for knowing the world, understanding the world and exchanging of ideas, therefore, the Bass Drum Dance reflects its important cultural value of ethnic identity of Jinuo. |
