Bela Bartok is a famous Hungarian pianist, folklorist and the most prominent composer of the Hungarian nationalism in 20th century. On the basis of long-time collecting, collating and studying folk music, and being influenced by some important contemporary composers, Bela Bartok integrated modern skills of composition in his creation, and won the worldwide reputation by his unique musical style and skills of his composition.Folk song is the most prominent aspect in his music. He used rough rhythm. sharp melody and colorful folk songs beyond the restrictions of general key (tonality). Thus his music possesses a profound sense with depressed harmony and unrestrained form. During his mature period, almost every note of his music was full of the emotion of Hungarian folk music. He brought the folk music of his motherland to the world, opened up a new way for the professional Hungary music; what's more, he is also one of the most important representatives of modern music. Generally, Igor Stravinsky, Amold Schoenberg and Bela Bartok are considered three of the greatest composers after Debussy in the first half of 20th century.This paper is divided into three main parts: First of all, I analyzed the formation of Bartok's music style from an aesthetic point, describing the influence from the folk music material and style of the times to the formation of his music styles; Secondly. I expounded the creation of Bartok in different periods; Finally, from the view of rhythm, harmony, mode, texture and form. I expounded the creative features embodied in Bartok's works in detail.
