Shi Zhecun ,the old man of this century,his literature position has been valued and is going to be put more attention from the mid- 90's . This has something to do with continuous heating of " the Shanghai style literature" , and also with the popularity of the standpoint that" modern parties" literature was seen the important marking of the modern parties of literature. However, simply categarizing him into " the Shanghai style scholar" may neglect his later development.The reputation of "the founder of modern parties" may also downplay his achievement and influence in literary creation.In 1930's, Shi Zhecun has galloped about the literary circles of Shanghai, which not only can be agreed in his writing the "modern parties"novel, but also his editing of modern and WenFanXiaoPin (《文饭小品》), and participation into "familiar essays fever" in 1930s. His enthusiasm and staightness was fully demonstrated in his essays and activities.During 80's to 90's, confronted with the new "familiar essays fever", he created many memorial essays with historical meaning and his wisdom and uniq personality spirit and the art character based on his life experience. Shi Zhecun 's essay is not the best on the art probably, but he can get involved actively, making the most of this kind of literary style, also contributing to certain theories .This paper use the analytical method of investigate the mind history change, trying to analyze him in a life process. From his essay we can see how a modern writer changes from a brilliant Shanghai style scholar to a profound one. We can also find some regulations of the essay creations and the characteristics of the development of Chinese modern prose history.
