Xu Can And Her Zhuo Zeng Yuan Shi Yu

Xu Can is an important pioneer of poet style as well as Li Qingzhao in the history of Chinese female poetry. She was the first woman poet who combined the abundant connotation with the unique poet style in the Qing Dynasty, and successfully changed the superficial poet style 300 years after Li Qingzhao. This paper firstly starts with Xu Can's birth, acquaintance, both firm and weak characters to inquiry her career and emphasis the significant influence of the culture in the south of the Yangzi Jiang upon her characters; then it inquiries the emotions expressed in Zhuo Zheng Yuan Shi Yu in respects of the sad feeling for spring and autumn, the marriage of notable and talented woman, the homesickness, so as to display Xu Can's spiritual world completely; finally it studies the artistry from the viewpoints of its both daring and euphemistic style, the uniqueness of expressing one's emotion in a dream, and the method of making poetic connections in order to estimate correctly the merit of Xu Can and her Zhuo Zheng Yuan Shi Yu in the history of female poetry.
