Wu Weiye is famous for "Meicun Sttyle", while "Meicun Style" indicates the unique feature-length epic with seven words a sentence which created by Wu Meicun. "Meicun Style" facilitates the development of our ancient epic. During the ancient years, epic is not so developed, so it cannot be contrasted with the lyric poetry in both quantity and quality , however, without doubt the appearance of "Meicun Style" is a very glaring ring in the long chain of development of epic. Besides, "Meicun Style" records many important historical events, so it exerts the influence that using poetry to conserves the history; while in the poetic style, it also makes the seven-word epic more representative."Meicun Style" is not totally created by Wu Meicun alone, for it has a long history and origin. "Meicun Style" inherits the excellent tradition of the historical seven-word epic, especially the Tang Dynasty, and in these it mostly learns from the "Four Elites Style" of the early Tang Dynasty, Dufu's "Shaoling Style", and Yuan, Bai's "Changqing Style". However, Wu Meicun does not simply imitate the precursors, but absorbs the essence from them and has his own creation, thus creates the new poetic style--the outstanding "Meicun Style". "Meicun Style" opens the new style of seven-word epic, and makes this poetic style more mature, more perfect in art, and this mainly embodies in this aspect: more substantial in content, more orderly in style, more complex in construction. This paper employs the method of the combination of literally and historically research, and makes an overall, systematic research, thus hopes to dig out the new development of the feature-length epic with seven words which was caused by the "Meicun Style". This paper uses three parts to argue in detail.(1)"Meicun Style" is the inheritance and development of the "Four Elites Style" in early Tang DynastyThe Feature-length epic with seven words begins at the Han Yuefu poetry and becomes mature in early Tang Dynasty, especially Lu Zhaolin and Luo Binwang are good at seven-word epic. When saying that "Meicun Style" is the inheritance and development of the "Four Elites Style" in earlier Tang Dynasty, this mainly indicates the style, which including the aspects of sentence, rhythm, sound structure and modification. In detail, it has more strict antitheses in sentence structure; mingles more rhythmic sentence in sound structure; uses the skillful changing rhythm in rhythm structure; and employs more accurate allusion in modification. (2) "Meicun Style" is the inheritance and development of Dufu's "Shaoling Style"While saying "Meicun Style" learns from Dufu's "Shaoling Style", this mainly indicates Wu Meicun has inherited and developed its epic content and realistic criticism. Wu Meicun is a self-conscious inheritor of Dufu's "historical poetry", which indicates those poetry that record the historical events of Ming and Qing Dynasty. The formation of Wu Meicun's "historical poetry" mainly has three reasons: firstly, he inherits the idea that ancient epic has the same headstream but different branches; secondly, he becomes more patient and sensitive about the unstable environment of the period between Ming and Qing Dynasty; thirdly, he is influenced by the history is the fact in early Qing Dynasty. "Meicun style" is made according to the fact, and it abides the principle of the "realistic record of history", so it uses poetry to spread events and record history, and in the meantime, retells and commends Dufu's realistic criticism. Besides, in the aspect of the strategy of narration, "Meicun Style" is different from "Shaoling Style": the latter pays more attention in recording history, while the former lays emphasis on describing person. (3)"Meicun Style" is the inheritance and development of Yuan ,Bai's "Changqingstyle"Wu Meicun learns and inherits from Yuan, Bai, especially in the narrative structure and representative technique. In view of the narrative structure, "Meicun Style" breaks the linear structure in which Yuan and Bai narrate according to the sequence of time strictly, and follows the jumping flashback structure, using orderly narration, flashback, insert narration echo and so on, as a result, all of these devices make the poetry changeable and complex, thus creates kinds of brand new narrative structural style; In view of the narrative method, "Changqing style" has characters and plot, so it is typical narrative poem; while "Meicun Style" has both the narration and evaluation about the events, so it combines the narration with lyric and discussion. What's more, "Meicun Style" contains more emotion than "Changqing Style", so representing a kind of strong and objective feature lyrically, and this is totally different from the strong and romantic feature by Yuan and Bai. In view of the shaping characters, "Meicun Style" inherits and develops the technique which expresses people's psychology exquisitely by Yuan and Bai, and this shows a deep exposure of people's psychology. In a word, Wu Meicun's seven-word narrative epic has a profound and far-reaching influence. "Meicun Style" makes the seven-word narrative epic becomes more abundant after Tang Dynasty, so it is not only a unique new poetic style during the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, but also an important landmark in the development of our ancient seven-word epic, all in all, its value and meaning are worth concerning and researching.
