Chinese Film Industry Chain And Strategy Study

Culture industry is regarded as an important facet of socio-economic development by many countries in the new round of international economic and cultu(?)e competition.The film industry,one of the key components of the broader medi(?)sector,is gaining increasing attention from many governments.Since 1993,the Chinese government has been actively managing the development of the film industry. The Chinese film industry has since evolved,reflecting the general economic shift from planned economy to the market economy and achieved significant progress towa(?)d its industrialization.After more than a decade of effort,the innovation and industrialization of Chinese film industry has achieved applauded success.However,due to historical disa(?)vantages,our film industry is still in its infancy e.g.the whole system is not ha(?)onious and some internal production chains are broken or lose.In this thesis,the reasons of above phenomena are analyzed and points out three major drawbacks, nam(?)ly the under-developed film industry,the disadvantage of film distribution and relat vely weak development of post-movie product,which the Chinese film industry is unable to cycle properly.Hollywood has already successfully formed an industry chain.This thesis aims to provide a detailed analysis of the "Hollywood" pattern.With regards to the situation of China,a strategy for the development of the Chinese film industry is proposed as follows:First,since the production of film genre can effectively integrate various sources in the film industry chain,Chinese film producers should establish the concepts of film genre,meanwhile emphasis on the expression of Chinese national sentiment, culture,and mentality to produce a unique Chinese style film genre.Second,'Theatre Chains' is an effective approach to establish the film industry, so(?)e should complete and extend theatre chains,enlarge the scale of theatre chains and build modem theatres,in order to improve the distribution and penetration of filn(?)s.Third,Chinese post-movie product should select suitable development model, establish severe punishment for piracy,protect crucial intellectual properties in all the stages of production,distribution and publication,in order to guarantee the development of post-movie product and the benefit of the film industry.Finally,a joint strategy should be adopted,which starts from production factory, along the supply chain,extend to distribution and publication and finally establish a uniform system of production,distribution,publication,in order to optimize the system of film industry and improve the competition ability in the increasing competitive international market.
