Liu Bannong is one of the most important persons in the literaryrevolution in 1919.He is a pioneer in spoken poetry of modern China. So he took great responsibility in poetry theory and poetry practice. The study of folk songs which hasn't been paid more attention is a great part of his poetry theory. This paper discussed " civil position" of Liu's poetry and the difference between his and other writers, then summed up the unique value and limitations of Liu's "civil position".Introduction defined the meaning of "civil position", which based on. Chen Sihe's and. Wang Guangdong's and so on. I considered that Liu's "civil position" is real civil position because he put himself in ordinary world. His civil position shooed that, he expressed common people's spirit and emotional world on the basis of their idea , logic and language and he was their spokesman. In this process. Liu put his sympathy, remorse, passion and agony in his poetry. Compared with Liu Bannong, Hu Shi took with strong utility and enlightenment of the elite and Zhou Zuoren's "civil" attitude was full of negation, he said: "The folk music is too babu hood to satisfy us regardless of form and ideology." Therefore, Liu Bannong' s "civil position" presented a certain character. The text of this paper is divided into three parts. The first part narrates civil distress in poetry content. It shows in three aspects the.First one is the two states in the face of civil distress stupidity and awakening, the former not only didn't aware of their distress but also took with the had quality to bully the weaker person. Liu's standpoint was the same with. Lu Xun' s "revealing the distress to attract the attention of curing, "the latter cried out who not do, who not lice "who rob, who beaten" to exploiter. The second one is the two characters: "born noble" and" treasure emotion" on one hand. The life consciousness of "born noble "and " treasurer born" made Chinese people nave strong living tenacity and wide bosom although they were the most ordinary people. On the other hand the young pursued loue but were obstructed by feudalism.In"may,4th"coriters paid more attention to loue their among the young in cities but ignored the young in countries. Although their loue were heavier. The third one is recounting of distress: "happiness in distress". The people in canneries didn't been overwhelmed by distress and .They lived in only. Their lieu were abound with the sap or of countryside and pleasure of hope. The second part told that Liu Bannong used civil portly factors for reference. This part emphasized Liu Bnnong pirouetted "a poem is poem" and adhered to the aesthetic of the new poetry. The first one issuing "rising" "Rising" concealed poems implications and needed to conjecture. Also using of image increased the aesthetic factors. The second one is using civil language to show civil aspirations in order to auguring a civil identification and realistic. The third one is the aesthetic language. In Liu's poems he avoided some flaws which were universal in "may,4th"age,such as language was much oral and free and grammar imitated European. The third part told the modern value and limitations of "civil position" Liu Bannong discovered the aesthetic qualities of civil culture on the standpoint of ordinary people and showed the aspiration for individual liberation and freedom life.It should be said that. Iiu Bannong demonstrated the different characteristics from other "may,4th"colleagues who all were pioneers of new literature and new culture so this paper pay mole attention to "civil position" of his poetry.
