This thesis makes a preliminary study on the glazed potteries and porcelains of Wei Dynasty -Northern Dynasties which are unearthed from North china. This thesis is divided into four parts. Part one introduces the unearthed situation about the glazed potteries and porcelains of Wei Dynasty -Northern Dynasties; in part two, we make a typological analysis based on archeological materials and correct the view that the glazed potteries have been extricated in Jin Dynasty. In the background of provident funeral, the glazed potteries from Jin Dynasty have inherited the tradition from the Han Dynasty and transformed. They have small quantities and most of them are dark reddish brown cannikins. The glazed potteries from the Sixteen Countries Dynasty are found fewer because of the war and the changing of regime. A small number of glazed potteries which have similar types with local potteries are unearthed from the San Yan's territory, Shan Xi province, Da Tong country and Kogoryo's territory. The glazed potteries unearthed from the tomb at the Da Tong country in Northern Wei have obvious XianBei style. After the capital of Northern Wei had moved to Luo Yang, glazed potteries absorbed the factors from the Han nationality and imitated celadon which fired from South China. The intercommunion between Northern Wei and Western's also brought some new factors to the glazed potteries. In this section, the two-colored glazed pottery began to fire and developed greatly in Northern Qi. We also analyze the flat pots' types and chronologies and probe their prevalence from Northern Dynasties to Tang Dynasty. In part three, we analyze the types of celadon from Wei,Jin Dynasty and Kogoryo which were fired in South china but unearthed from the North. We take the porcelains unearthed from Northern Dynasties as the whole research focus. The porcelains unearthed from Northern Dynasties have two types, one was imported from the South and the other kind was fired at local North. We analyze all the types of them and divide them into three stages. We also discuss the development of porcelain in Northern Dynasties with the discovery of wares and conclude that the north China begins to fire porcelains at least in late Northern Wei Dynasty, but the technique's real development has to be late till Northern Qi Dynasty. When the North porcelains were fired, their types were influenced by the celadon fired in South China, the local potteries and the Western metal's types. The prevalence of Buddhist makes the lotus become the main decorative theme on the porcelains. In addition, we do research on the origin of the white porcelains and get a conclusion that they come from celadon, but their relations with glazed potteries should not be overlooked.Part four is the conclusion of the whole article.
