| Reorganization of stories is Lu Xun's third novel collection, is also a very controversial collection. The focal point of the dispute is mainly its method of creation as well as the "slickness" of the novel style. Before, the academic circle generally explained Reorganization of stories with the romanticism or the realism, this modus operandi produces many thorny questions, the research advanced with difficulty all time. If we change perspective, to explain it with West's modernism, perhaps these questions will be easily solved.Modernism was a western literature trend or school in the second half of the 19th century to the mid-20th century. It was a thought revolution of people carefully reexamining the world and an intense affects of the cultural trend in the East and West various countries. It has the very big impact regarding the Chinese intellectual circle then, also has had the profound influence to Lu Xun. In fact, Lu Xun is very familiar to the modernism, and has drawn lessons from it. Acutely Reorganization of stories is a great re-creation based on Lu Xun's absorption of thought and techniques of the Modernism. Not only is Reorganization of stories a breakthrough and transcendence for Lu Xun's own, but also represents a higher standard of the modern Chinese fiction.This paper attempts to discuss the impact of the modernism for Reorganization of stories and its artistic achievements from aspects of the ideas and the techniques. This paper including three parts, the first one introduces modernism, embracing its origin, form, genre, and the core of the main features. The second one introduces Lu Xun's contacts to modernism and his understanding of it, as well as Lu Xun's changes of creating thought under the influence of the modernism. The third one mainly discusses inner link between modernism and Reorganization of stories and its special significance in the history of China's modern novels. |
