1517, Martin Luther' s Reformation brought tremendous impact to European Christian Kingdom. The Christian Church was divided two Factions: Roman Catholic and Protestant. In order to resist the impact of Protestant, Roman Catholic begun to preach Gospel in overseas. 1549, Jesuit Francis Xavier preached Christianity Gospel, but only after a period of about 100 years, in the mid-17th century Edo Bakufu Government eliminated Christianity completely. Although Christianity propagated in Japan for a short period, it had given the traditional Japanese society tremendous impact and influence, and taken powerful impetus to the cultural exchanges between the East and West. So this thesis mainly refers to the largest Christian faction—Roman Catholic, and its early missionary activities in Japan.This thesis is divided into four major parts. The first part introduces the background of Pre-Christianity in Japan, we can know that Christianity had a historical introduction of the inevitability of Japan, there was a certain contingencies. The second part introduces Japan's 100-year Christianity propagation's history, after the initial exploration, until the upsurge of development and finally this decline in four phases, detailed description of Christianity and traditional Japanese society in various sectors of the intimate contact. The third part focuses on the spread of Christianity in history, in the course of a series of problems encountered, and the traditional Japanese concept of moral and cultural forces generated by the conflict. Part IV analyzes the spread of Christianity in Japan in a short period of time to 100 years of Japan's social culture and historical development of the tremendous impact.Based on the Christian history of Early Mission in Japan shows that the Western culture and Western civilization was taken to Japan by Portuguese, gradually affected the original religious, economic interests, values, and secular powers, and impact the development of Japanese history, cause the Japanese Sakoku System.
